Headed Home!

 

Benny & Donna hit the road again this morning so, we had a prayer and said “so long” to them as they begin their road trip back to Georgia. Please keep them in your prayers as they travel back home stopping and seeing many sights along the way!

The rest of our Billings Team checked in and are traveling back together via Dallas to ATL arriving around 10:30 PM tonight.

We return home thankful for the opportunity the Lord has given us to serve Him here in Montana! Thank you again for joining us through your prayers and support!

There’s a New Playground at Bethel Baptist Church!

 

We are humbled, excited and thankful to see a new playground where there hasn’t been one at Bethel Baptist Church for over a year and a half! 

This called for a Billings Team Photo…compete with Pastor Jeremy! 😊

Then we took time to pray over the playground, entrusting this to the Lord to be an effective tool for the Gospel in this community.

Then it was time to say goodbye…or more appropriately, so long…because we hope to return to continue to serve alongside Pastor Jeremy and his wife Veronica in the days ahead!

Then it was time for some R&R which began with having lunch in the world famous Burger Dive Restaurant in Billings!

Then, (after a brief siesta at the hotel), we headed to Red Lodge, Montana for the afternoon. We had a great time seeing some Montana scenery and enjoying this historic gateway town to Yellowstone.

And while we were in Red Lodge, Veronica sent us this picture of the playground back in Billings…filled with children!

We are so thankful for the amazing opportunity God has given us to be a small part of what he is doing in Montana these past two weeks!

Cookout!

Tonight, we went to Pastor Jeremy’s house. What a blessing to have this time with Jeremy, his wife, Veronica and their four boys! 

Oh, and the food was great too!

After dinner, we gave out some gifts just to encourage this family we have come to serve alongside this week.

The boys received official Atlanta Braves t-shirts…which they proudly put on! Go Braves!

It was a great way to end our day in Billings!

Another Great Day in Billings!

Something special happens when you serve the Lord together on a common mission. After working hard all morning, these guys took a much deserved coffee break. 

As the morning progressed, things really began to take shape! Given the fact that the last playground blew over, we decided to be sure this one would not suffer the same fate!

To ensure that this playground would not blow away, we spent the rest of the afternoon digging holes, setting footers and pouring cement! This playground is not going anywhere! 😊

Tomorrow, we will finish this project by adding mulch and a few remaining features to the playground.

Playground Progress Day 1

 

We started early this morning to get as much done before it got too hot! 

We had to prepare the site so the playground would be level.

It didn’t take long to begin to see the playground take shape!

Under Benny and Robert’s direction, we stayed on track and saw things come together nicely!

The ladies did a great job making sure we stayed hydrated in the heat and prepared amazing meals for our team today!

Thankfully, by the end of the day, we made a lot of progress and are excited to see the empty space outside Bethel Baptist filled once again with a new playground!

We are not quite finished yet…we’ll see how far we get tomorrow!

Inventory Time!

 

Sunday afternoon was inventory time…of the playground, that is! But before we could count the wood and bolts, we had to move the playground from Pastor Jeremy’s garage to the church! 😊

After putting all of the playground pieces on the floor of the church, we began counting and making sure we had all that we needed to build the playground. This was definitely a team effort!

Robert even counted the bolts! 

And in the end, we praise the Lord that all of the pieces arrived and we were even able to begin putting the playground together this afternoon!

Sunday Morning at Bethel Baptist Church

 

Our Sunday at Bethel Bible began in God’s Word and prayer. Our devotion time each morning is a very special time for our team!

We were welcomed warmly by church members and by Pastor Jeremy. We really enjoyed the worship and time in the Word at Bethel Baptist this morning! 

Children’s church was led by Pastor Jeremy’s wife, Veronica. There are so many families and children within walking distance of this church. There is HUGE potential to see MANY children come to know the Lord here!
